Professional Experience:

1970 Through 1977:

Ms. Packes practiced trial and appellate law primarily in the Federal Courts in New York.

1979 Through Present:

Ms. Packes was President of Feathered Nest, one of Manhattan's largest rental companies, with approximately 70 people engaged exclusively in residential rentals. Ms. Packes specialized the work of Feathered Nest to residential rentals and created a referral system with real estate colleagues in both the sale and commercial markets. Feathered Nest's creation of its referral system facilitated the distribution of information for the benefit of both industry professionals and consumers in the absence of a multiple listing system. Ms. Packes sold Feathered Nest in 1998 to the owners of Brown Harris Stevens who subsequently also acquired the Halstead Property Company.

Currently, Ms. Packes’ work is devoted primarily to consultation services to developers concerning all aspects of the Manhattan residential market, including the planning of mixes and apartment sizes, floorplan layouts, interior finishes and building amenities.

Semi-annually, Ms. Packes produces the most extensive report on the Manhattan rental market, which is frequently published by The New York Times and is relied upon by real estate professionals and financial institutions.

Professional Affiliation:
Ms. Packes has been twice elected Chairperson of the Ethics Committee and twice elected co-chairperson of the Rental Committee of the Residential Division of the Real Estate Board of New York. She has served as one of seven members of the Board of Directors of the Residential Division of the Real Estate Board of New York.

Geneviève Sopchuk, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales

Geneviève joined the BHSPM team in the winter 2006 after serving as Director of Development for The Developers Group in Brooklyn, NY. Geneviève has 10 years experience working as an architect for several New York based firms such as Costas Kondylis & Partners, Deborah Berke & Partners and Karim Rashid Inc.

Born and raised in Canada, Geneviève has a Bachelor and Master degree in Architecture from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Calgary and has studied abroad at La Sorbonne in Paris.

As a valued addition to the growing team of specialists at BHSPM, Geneviève’s responsibilities include: site analysis and development planning; architectural and interior design consultation and coordination and interpretation of market trends through research analyses to establish valuations for client pro-formas.


Seth Rosner, Managing Director

Seth Rosner has been working with Nancy Packes for five years. He has been the office manager at five major developments in Manhattan, overseeing the absorption of approximately 1500 homes. As office manager, he has hired staff and priced units to maximize profits for the owner. He has also aided in the transition to permanent building staff. In all of his projects Seth has made a substantial contribution to the creation of the building identity and marketing campaign. As Executive Vice President of BHS Project Marketing Seth attends project meetings with Nancy and participates in all aspects of the project from design development through the last closing. Seth is also Nancy’s son.


Patrick W. Smith, Senior Vice President

Professional Experience 2000 to Present:

Patrick serves as our Project Manager for multiple buildings in varying stages of development and reports directly to Nancy. Among Patrick's core responsibilities are maintaining constant communications with the sponsors, preparing and implementing budgets and market analyses. Patrick also works closely with our sponsors’ multi-disciplinary teams. As one of Project Marketing’s Sales Directors Patrick manages the sales process from initial launch through sell out. Patrick is also involved in the creation, management and implementation of various marketing programs and materials.


Doug Chitel, Director, Market Research; Project Manager

Doug Chitel first began working with Ms. Packes as her Executive Assistant just after Terra Holdings acquired Nancy’s first firm in 1998. As Director of Market Research and Project Manager, Doug now performs in-depth market analyses, ensuring that all associates and clients receive up-to-date reports on current and future residential development within the five boroughs and the NYC metro area. He also collaborates with Nancy and Seth at all stages of the development process, servicing the unique needs of many of the firm’s projects. He holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from NYU and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from Tufts University.


Carole Bloom, Director of Marketing and Sales

Carole joined the BHSPM team in October, 2008, bringing over 16 years experience in residential New York City real estate. She began her career at The Related Companies in 1992, working in Related Rentals, Related Management Company L.P. and Related Sales, LLC. As District Marketing Manager, she managed leasing, analysis and marketing initiatives for most of the Manhattan portfolio. She earned her New York State Real Estate Sales License in 1992 and has held her Associate Broker License since 1997.

At BHSPM, Carole is director of Marketing and Sales. She is an account representative for high end condominiums, responsible for research and analysis, pricing and strategizing the sellout as well as planning amenities and collateral materials. She is also responsible for planning and coordinating the sales launch.

Carole attended the Fiorello LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts in Manhattan and the Manhattan School of Music. Continuing her opera training, she attended the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, graduating with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Management and Voice.


Michael Alleyne, Vice President, Director of Communications

Michael Alleyne has been in the industry for eight years and has worked with Nancy for the past six. As her Executive Assistant, one of Michael’s primary tasks is to put together Halstead Leasing Consultant’s Market Overview; Nancy’s bi-annual rental report, one of the most respected reports in the industry. As Vice President of BHS Project Marketing, Michael researches and maintains Project Marketing’s Manhattan and Brooklyn Condo Pipelines. He is also responsible for creating specific comparability reports for new condominium development projects.
